What To Expect

Arrival
You will be dropped at Iron Gate Camp Ground, Unit 45 in the Santa Fe National Forest. We are devoted to leaving a positive impact on our environment and future generations, and we believe that this is possible through responsible recreational practices. We highly recommend taking the Leave No Trace course, to help us all preserve the natural habitat for years to come.

Horses
Our riding horses have a weight limit of 200 pounds and our pack animals can carry up to 150 pounds.

Payment
When booking, we require a 50% deposit, with the remaining amount due upon arrival. Our talented and diligent wranglers, guides, and cook pour their hearts into making your trip unforgettable, and if you choose to leave a gratuity, they would be deeply grateful. Sometimes more than 1 guide/wrangler is needed.

What To Bring

You will need to supply your own sleeping bag, pillow, and any other personal items. Please check our list of recommended items for a full list of essentials.

How To Prepare

If you are not accustomed to high elevation, we recommend you stay in Santa Fe New Mexico for two days prior to taking your back country adventure. Remember, a well-hydrated body leads to happy and successful adventures, so make sure to drink plenty of water during your travels!

Hunting
We do not offer guided hunts. For your hunting trip, we can only provide tents, packing out you or your game, and dropping off your provisions into Unit 45. New Mexico has different hunting rules than other states, so make sure you check out the New Mexico Game & Fish website to understand the rules and to get an idea about the draw and the 10% pool.

We need to be made aware of any food allergies and medical conditions prior to booking your adventure. Please make sure you supply us with this information before you arrive!
